May 5 1967 A U.S. Marine of the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, pistol in one hand and an active grenade in the other, inches his way forward to Hilltop 881 North.
May 3 1967 U.S. Marines stand on Hill 881 North
after a fierce nine daybattle near KheSanh
May 2 1967 A Machine gunner sprays covering fire as U.S. Marines, taking heavy casualties, advance on Hill 881 near KheSanh.
May 1967 A U.S. Marine radioman dashes through enemy fire just south of the DMZ. Marines of 2nd Bn 3rd Marines were pulling out of the area when they ran into North Vietnamese troops dug into bunkers and foxholes. Hours of close fighting and night long artillery barrage drove the enemy out.

June 1967 A U.S. bomb explodes near Hoi An, 20 miles south of Danang as a Marine walks by the blast. U.S. Marines of 2nd Bn 3rd Marines, called in air strikes to clear out a cluster of snipers they encountered while patrolling the coast in Operation Beacon Torch.
