Honor the warrior is a collection of stories written and told by Marine Corps Veterans of combat in Vietnam who are determined not to be victims of a history written by those who did not live it. Captain Joseph R. Tenney K-3-5 (Silver Star)

"HONOR THE WARRIOR". What a great  title for a book. The list of medals alonemake this book a must buy for students of the Vietnam war. It is about time that a book like this was written.  M.B.Kromis,Military Historian

The war in Vietnam was not a popular one. The Marines that fought there returned to a largely ungrateful nation. These warriors had made sacrifices as great as any in the history of our country. They fought well-as well or better than Marines in other wars. This book chooses to honor the warrior and not the war.

Presented in some of the most introspective and articulate first person accounts to come out of the war, the reader will vicariously experience what it was like to be a Marine in combat in Vietnam. The action is vicious, realistic and graphic.  No holds are barred, no punches pulled! This is how it was in Vietnam: heat exhaustion, the problems caused by the early mal-functions of the M-16 rifle, boredom and the courage and tenacity of Marines.

Included in this book are lists of all Marines and Navy Corpsmen awarded the Medal of Honor, The Navy Cross, and The Silver Star. Additional effort was made to identify all Marines mentioned including KIA's.

Despite the folly of fighting such a senseless war with its almost unspeakable carnage and highly questionable rules of engagement ,there were unforgettable acts of self-sacrifice and courage. It is best told by these ordinary men who were asked to accomplish the impossible.

Historians Note:There are many Heroes of Echo Company listed in this book. Since its publishing there have been some additions and corrections to the lists of Medal holders. I personally found this to be a very interesting book. For those who do not like to read and read, this book is made up of extremely interesting short stories that will hold your interest until the end of each story.
